By 27th July 1982 top coat had been applied (note the loco number chalked under the radiator just in case it was forgotten!!). In this view routine electrical testing is being carried out along with vacuum testing using the contraption on the floor beside the left hand buffer.

According to one or two self appointed experts the still extant 45112 "has not been in the works since 1981". Here it is on 23rd May 1986 following a complete power unit change. The classified repair programme for the Class 45s ended with the completion of 45118, this loco would have been one of the next to be overhauled had the programme continued.

One of the final Class 45 overhauls was 45114 - only three further examples would be processed after this. 43048 is beside. 21st February 1986.
