Classes 37 and 47.
The final survivors from BR diesel days, their numbers are ever dwindling.
Both types have seen extensive modifications during their service lives which has resulting in one or two re-numberings. These lists give the original and present numbers only.
The following lists are based on surviving Class 37s (correct to December 2000) and Class 47s (correct to 5th January 2001).
For the 37s these are listed in their original TOPS number order (i.e. 37001 - 37308)
For the 47s these are listed in their as built 'D' series number order. For a complete record Class 57 is also included.
