PEAK FOREST FREIGHT.

Peak Forest in Derbyshire has seen and still sees a lot of heavy freight activity, in particular stone and chemical traffic. Here we have three views of 25s being worked to the full in the area.

25104 on full song is banked out of Peak Forest by a classmate on 23rd November 1978. The famous ICI hoppers, built in the 1930s were only recently taken out of traffic.

25136 trundles through Peak Forest with a train of empty ICI hoppers during January 1982. The locomotive was withdrawn just over a year later in March 1983.
