More Repair Views

Following on from the Class 44 (One to Tenners) the first Class 45 to be built was D11. This went on to become 45122 later in life after conversion to electric train heating. The locomotive is seen above following an argument with a coal train.

In this view repairs are underway, the substantial sole bar is unscathed although a major stripping down of the cab was needed.

As a comparison to the view above 45107 displays most of the major components which were housed beneath the No.1 end nose including the traction motor blower and a pair of air tanks. This was one of the last 45s ever to receive a classified repair. Note the Class 20 roof on the floor in the foreground.
