Livery of Relevance.

In the mid 1980s British rail locomotives began to appear in what is termed "Large Logo Livery". The same standard blue and yellow was used but the yellow was extended around the cabsides. The BR double arrow was the height of the locomotive body and huge numerals were also applied.
The onset of privatisation and the adoption of corporate colour schemes has resulted in many BR liveries disappearing. Suddenly there was just the one locomotive in regular passenger use wearing this livery - 37408. Unfortunately 408 has gone to Toton for an overhaul and will no doubt appear in EWS livery. At one stage it was intended to rename the locomotive. After an unprecedented campaign this will not happen. Not too long before it went away for overhaul 408 was a regular performer on the North Wales Coast, and it always made the Day Trip to Bangor just a little more special than usual. Indeed the Day Trip roadshow dubbed the locomotive "Livery of Relevance"
One enhancement on one side of the locomotive was the Scottie Dog logo, from 408's Eastfield (Glasgow) days.
