Complete with 6" self adhesive numbers vacuum braked 25062 prepares to run round the Nottingham - Llandudno service at Derby on 13th June 1981. At this time the loco had another 18 months of service remaining.
One sign of a vacuum braked example with the series 1 bodyshell was the lack of hinged louvres along the side in this view (See 25034). Dual braked examples had air reservoirs fitted along this side and the louvres were hinged so the could be opened to gain access to the reservoirs and their equipment. Also dual braked examples had bogie modifications as they were heavier on one side than the other.
